The author reflects on his struggle of stage 1V non-Hodgkins lymphoma. The author inferred that in the first week, he achieved the Buddhist ideal of living with equanimity, acceptance and gratitude, and spoke about the transformational power of illness. The author averred that he meditates sporadically, feel waves of the same anxiety and depression. He stated that even he survives cancer, his fantasy of a fine future that soothes the painful present has been exposed.
