ABSTRACT
The author reflects on Jeff Goldsmith's commentary which considers political leadership as the key element to attain the goal of enhancing healthcare claims processing in the U.S. He discusses Goldsmith's insights regarding Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act's (HIPAA) simplification provisions as well as the regional and local efforts to streamline transaction processing. He also looks into his article concerning the healthcare financial management association (HFMA).
