ABSTRACT
The author criticizes the policy issued by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) that allows employers to reduce or eliminate health benefits for retirees age 65 and over without regard to age-discrimination laws. He asserts that with the policy, more than 10 million post-65 retirees will no longer be protected by age-discrimination laws. He opines that the policy will not be able to resolve the problem associated with increasing health care cost.
