ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the issue concerning political candidates for the 2008 elections not campaigning on voters on the Western region in the U.S. He remarks that in spite of the West becoming a swing region, with a collective voice in the nominating process, political candidates are not giving the region significance in the coming elections. He stresses that even Mitt Romney who raised millions of support in one of the states did not spend time in addressing the region's particular issues.
