ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the U.S. government securities or public debts rating. He notes the statement made by Moody's Investment Service Inc. that the continuous increase in the cost of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid may lead to the downgrading of the nation's credit rating. He suggests that the government focus more on assets instead of the expansion of the military and maintaining worldwide commitments to defend scores of nations.
