ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the infrastructure of U.S. boilers. He says that when it comes to boilers, there should be a balanced perspective on energy savings, dependency on fossil fuels and limiting greenhouse gas emissions. He points out that majority of the commercial and industrial boilers in the U.S. are past their average expected life. He argues that combustion controls of old boilers are less efficient.
