ABSTRACT
The author recognizes the strategy of Internet firm Google Inc. in forming a consortium of companies that have agreed to use Android as the open software platform for products they will develop. The consortium is called The Open Handset Alliance and the platform is set to revolutionize the cell phone industry. He also mentions the benefits of Google's strategy for cellular phone manufacturers and users.
