ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the study that considers the anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody (anti-CCP) to be more specific test for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease than rheumatoid factor (RF). He considers the rigorous meta-analysis to be very significant. He talks about testing both RF and anti-CCP in suspect cases of RA and recommends serial monitoring. He agrees with the conclusion which supports that anti-CCP should be incorporated into the diagnostic workup of RA.
