The author reflects on why the Australian retail travel industry is attached to the franchise model. . According to the author, he is not convinced that franchising is the ideal solution for long-term owners or operators of retail travel agencies, no matter how strong the franchise brand. The author said that the heart of franchising is about submitting individual control and character to a uniform and standardized approach.
