Is it time for another medical curriculum revolution?

The article discusses the benefits of a three-year curriculum in medical education, compared to the customary four years of training, in Canada. The authors argue that the fourth year in medical education is unnecessary because it only represents additional financial burden not only to the students but also to Canadian universities and taxpayers. Evidence also suggests that physicians trained in a three-year program are equally competent with graduates of four-year programs.
