ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the issue of political correctness in the workplace. According to the author, the issue can do considerable harm to the cause of diversity by creating an environment in which fear of saying the wrong thing stultifies conversation between people who are different. He questions who defines what is offensive. He contends that achieving organisational and societal diversity requires people to start with dialogue that leads to understanding.
