ABSTRACT
The author argues that search companies in Great Britain should measure successful placements. The way that the search industry has operated for the past half century is out of sync with what the market now demands. Traditionally, executive search firms have been ranked by the revenue they generate. But this merely tells how effective a sales operation they are, not how effective they are at delivering successful appointments. The author firmly advocates the idea that the search industry should provide published, audited placement statistics.
