The author discusses the role of probiotics in treatment of colonic flora caused by stress. According to him, daily life stress leads to intestinal inflammation in chronic inflammatory bowel disease and food allergies. As per the author, probiotics helps in treating gut microbiota and gut permeability disturbances caused by stress, and moreover acts as a remedy for correcting dysfunction of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis.
