The author discusses the results of a survey conducted by C. Max Magee titled "The Roles of Journalists in Online Newsrooms." The survey identified 35 skills divided into four categories, which he also said are the characteristics that hiring managers are looking for including attitudes and intangibles, editing and copyediting skills, content creation and online production tools. The author comments that the journalists multimedia abilities should go hand-in-hand with the spirit of an entrepreneur and these should be developed in college.
