The author comments on the predictions of former U.S. Vice President Al Gore on global warming in the documentary film "An Inconvenient Truth." Gore's movie has a visual that purportedly shows temperature changes over the last 650,000 years correlating closely with levels of carbon dioxide, suggesting that carbon dioxide must be the culprit. Medical school student Mary Ellen Gilder did research and pointed out distortions and falsehoods in the film.
