ABSTRACT
The article comments on global warming and its impact on the chemical industry. It is viewed that this is a controversial subject for the industry, with opinion still divided in some quarters about whether mankind is having any impact at all. A flaw was uncovered in the U.S. government analysis of annual temperature records, which were seized upon by skeptics as further evidence of the flawed concept of global warming. In Europe, there is greater acceptance of climate change at political level.
