ABSTRACT
The author reflects on a study, conducted by P. Jeetley and colleagues, which focuses on the clinical and economic effects of using stress echocardiography or exercise electrocardiography in patients with suspected acute coronary syndrome and a negative cardiac troponin test to predict risk for serious coronary artery disease (CAD). The author views that the study accounts for all downstream costs and benefits of a test to determine the optimal testing strategy but for limited patients.
