ABSTRACT
The article comments on the order of the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to recall 450,000 light truck tires made by China's Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Co. Ltd. It has been stated that importer Foreign Tire Sales Inc. told NHTSA that tires made there lack sufficient gum strips between belts to prevent belt separation. It is evident that Hangzhou Zhongce is the company under fire, but the flames can touch any tire producer in China.
