Lugar's move

June 2007
Hill;6/28/2007, Vol. 14 Issue 79, p28
The author reflects on the speech delivered by Senator Richard Lugar of Indiana about the U.S.'s prosecution of war against Islamist Terrorism. He agrees on Lugar's suggestion of the withdrawal of the U.S. troops in Iraq. He points out that Lugar's purpose of the retreat was because the war has already been served but somehow is seen to have failed its real mission. He interprets Lugar's statement as wanting to distance from the President and his policy but are nervous about making the breach.
