ABSTRACT
The author comments on the surface transportation challenges in the U.S. He argues that despite the enactment of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act : A Legacy for Users in 2005, U.S. continues to fall further behind in conforming to the surface transportation challenges. He suggests that every available option must be considered to develop a comprehensive and multimodal approach that would meet the country's future transportation needs.
