Bittsburgh Bost-Gazette

May 2007
Hill;5/10/2007, Vol. 14 Issue 55, p24
The author comments on the spending of taxpayers fund by U.S. Representative Tim Murphy for printing and mailing of franked mails. He argues that Murphy's eagerness to communicate with the public is praiseworthy, but at the rate of nearly half-a-million dollars a year suggests bad stewardship of taxpayer funds. He suggests that Murphy was accused of using staffs funded by taxpayers to campaign for him, and one would think he would be eager to avoid the appearance of overuse of the franking privilege.
