ABSTRACT
The author presents his view that embryonic stem cell research has not been proven to be effective as a medical treatment in clinical trials and that claims of its potential have been inflated to secure funding. He discusses how adult stem cell research has been proven to be more effective and that adult stem cells taken from bone marrow are more adaptable than had been previously thought. He reports that stem cells found in amniotic fluid have proven as versatile as embryonic stem cells.
