ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the counterfeiting issues affecting the global industry. The counterfeiting process includes the faking of product barcodes taken from stores through digital cameras. According to him, the issue has become a problem in every manufacturing sector in the world, particularly in China which is the home of many counterfeiters. He identified two solutions for the problem, which are overt and covert. Moreover, he calls on security professionals to combat the growing problem.
