ABSTRACT
The article presents the authors' views about the 2007 Convenience Store News Future Forum that was held in Saint Petersburg, Florida in March 2007. The authors say that Bruce Tulgan, a keynote speaker at the forum, thrilled the audience with his parody of what he called, "the myth of empowerment," portraying hands-off management as just a way to avoid actually managing people. They added that all the speakers were extremely generous in the quality and amount of information they shared.
