ABSTRACT
The authors comment on the economic and cultural impact of the restoration of Fox Theater, a historic art theater in Spokane, Washington. The authors consider the funding of the restoration project through historic and New Markets Tax Credits as a demonstration of an innovative way to urge investment in projects that benefit the community. They claim that developers must be innovative and resourceful to sustain the momentum of growth in the downtown area.
