The author reflects on his time as editor of the periodical "Marketing Science," which celebrated its 25th year in 2006. He remembers working with editors of the American Marketing Association (AMA) journals and the "Journal of Marketing Research." The area editor (AE) system was established during his tenure in order to distribute editorial responsibilities to other staff. He reflects on strategic and tactical decisions, including minimizing the focus on page constraints and printing in color.
