The author reflects on the business outlook for the furniture industry in 2007 in the U.S. He remarked that most recent reports about the industry are not showing a turnaround until the mid-year. For instance, the National Retail Federation issued a mixed forecast, stating that retail sales will increase 4.8 percent, but housing slowdown will impact the industry. He added that no matter what the predictions are, manufacturers need to be quick in initiating strategies to survive in the market.
