ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the economic implications of the increasing rents in offices in New York. He mentions that the rents in Manhattan, New York City have reached the $100-per-square-foot ceiling and not advisable for smaller businesses and employers. He suggests that buying older buildings is cheaper than building from scratch. In addition, he predicts that the demise in the office market in Greenwich will eventually be repeated in Westchester County if the rents continue to increase.
