ABSTRACT
The author discusses the potential business opportunities for advertising agencies in the virtual world. The emergence of several innovative websites reveals that people are now trusting the Internet. Linden's Second Life web site has enrolled more than 1,600,000 members. Other web initiatives like SL News Center from Reuters, Storefront from Adidas and Toyota's virtual car showroom are mentioned. The author also offers comments of Tom Boellstorff, anthropology professor at Stanford University.
