ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the scarcity of qualified leaders in Africa. He gives an overview on the definition of leadership, its qualities and record. He outlines certain skills and attributes for such leaders including visionary, integrity, judgment, public relations, talent and trust. He stresses that such skills and attributes depended on the distinctives of the territory.
