ABSTRACT
The article presents the author's perspective on the studies conducted about diarrhea in children. According to reports, childhood diarrhea remains a common cause of illness in developed countries and accounts for 17% of death among children. Researchers of one study had identified a potential pathogen in 47% of children with diarrhea who presented to a pediatric emergency department in St. Louis, Missouri.
