The article focuses on audio and video codes that are being placed on programming in the U.S. According to Tim Brooks, executive vice president of research at Lifetime Entertainment Services, codes have been placed by Nielsen and Arbitron Inc. on signals of their networks. The concerns on the colliding of codes can be solved through the use of only one set of codes.
