ABSTRACT
The author considers the different risks faced by exiled publications in Burma. He mentions the role of the Press Scrutiny and Registration Department. He stresses the threats faced by journalists in the country. He believes that practicing journalism in the country requires courage. He cites the experience of the Thailand-based news magazine "The Irrawaddy" under the control of the Burmese government.
