ABSTRACT
The article presents the author's experience of visiting the line for Body Worlds 2 at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science in Colombia. The author was curious to know that how often the human bodies are impregnated with resin and polyester, contorted into odd postures, and displayed for public's edification. For this, a process of plastination has been developed by Gunther von Hagens, a medical doctor who grew up in East Germany and created Body Worlds in Denver. In this process various polymers are used to preserve human tissue in all-but-lifelike detail. Layers of the skin and fat and muscle, are selectively peeled away by von Hagens, who poses his subjects to display different aspects of their anatomical machinery.
