The author reflects on the Wright Amendment sponsored by former U.S. Representative James Wright (D-Tex.) which restricts air service from Love Field airport in Dallas, Texas. The measure was created to counter the plan of Southwest Airlines to operate at Love Field. Southwest was able to succeed despite constraints to its plan.
