The author discusses the influence of Progressivism on U.S. educational thought. The popularity of Progressivism as an education system is examined. The superiority of the Classicist education system over the Progressivist system is analyzed. The article also covers the alarm felt by pioneer Progressivists over the extremes to which their philosophy has influenced enthusiasts.
