ABSTRACT
The article reflects on the promotion of local agriculture. It views that the importance of the farmers who provide food for others should not be undermine. The author comments that he and his wife remember the farmers in their dining table and in holiday rituals and offer their thanks to many of the farmers by name. His wife, who has a Masters Degree in Marketing, has shown a genuine interest in marketing of local foods. She works with the local organic growers' organization, which helps her to plan her own garden. Though the author and his wife are recovering vegetarians they insist on being acquainted the local source from where the meat for consumption comes from. There are many things, which can be done to improve ones eating habits. At the same having an idea about the local food and buy as much local and organic food as possible will reduce ecological footprints.
