ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the American doctrine of tolerance which is grounded in the first article of the Bill of Rights. It states that Congress shall make no law which prohibits the practice of religion, freedom of speech, and the right to assemble. The author comments that the Bill of Rights goes on to specify personal rights of all citizen. He also acknowledges President Franklin Roosevelt for gratifying such bill.
