The author reflects on the impact of the activity of Diageo PLC on its advertising agencies. The rumor that General Mills Inc. is planning to acquire Diageo's Pillsbury Co. unit has created a confusion within Leo Burnett USA, the unit's agency. Diageo's plan of consolidating its units that include United Distillers & Vintners and Guinness will affect several agencies that handled the brands.
