ABSTRACT
The article discusses issues related to leadership in managerial roles in the fire service which is facing the addition of a new management tier between itself and local, state and federal governments. Former chairman and chief executive officer Larry Bossidy of Honeywell International coauthored the book, "Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done," which focuses on closing the gap between "results promised and results delivered."
