This article presents and editorial the new Seattle Public Library. By now you have read and heard the tremendously favorable commentary in the media all over America praising Seattle's new main library building. After all, it was Andrew Carnegie's $200,000 that built the second public library, the first monumental library building to occupy the downtown site where the new one now stands. The voters overwhelmingly approved a huge bond issue, some $ 96.4 million, for the main library and 27 new or renovated branches. Like all the media commentators and critics, I loved the new main library in Seattle and came away from my visit sure that it will do its job magnificently .Thank you, people of Seattle! I hope your political leaders will match your commitment.
