ABSTRACT
The article discusses political and economic issues in Slovakia. The country's political risk profile is forecasted to remain one of the most robust in the emerging European region through a five-year period. On September 3, 2007 the Slovak Statistical Office revised the Q207 real gross domestic product (GDP) growth figure up to 9.4 percent. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced plans to increase electricity production in an effort to meet growing demand over the long term.
