ABSTRACT
The article presents an economic outlook for Slovakia in 2007. The public finance deficit of the country for 2007 is expected to decline by 3 percent of the maximum gross domestic product (GDP) required under the Maastrich criteria for Euro-adoption. Such GDP expectation is also associated with the planned introduction of new taxes in 2008. The country also cautions on the risks posed by government social policy.
