The article presents a summary of risks faced by Latvia. With regards to politics, the government has agreed to reduce the real estate tax rate of a property's cadastral value beginning in 2008. The author said that the cadastral values will be increased and re-assessed yearly. Meanwhile, the economy expanded by 11.2 percent in the first quarter of 2007. Corruption is still a key constraint on the business environment ratings of the country.
