ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of ratings agency Fitch to announce that the Polish government's lack of commitment to control the worsening fiscal deficit of the country may represent a major obstacle to further rating upgrades in the medium term. The author said that the deteriorating fiscal position will pose major risks to the sound macroeconomic outlook of Poland. According to Fitch, insufficient tightening in the budget proposal may present a risk to future ratings upgrades.
