ABSTRACT
The article provides information on the political and economic risks in Slovakia. The country's division over the plan of the United Nations on Kosovo, Serbia might affect the relations between the coalition government, the Smer and the Party of the Hungarian Coalition. The Slovak budget deficit for the first quarter of 2007 has reached SKK11.9 billion. The Foreign Direct Investment in Slovakia doubled in 2006 because of the privatization of Slovenske Elektrarne.
