The article offers an economic outlook for Slovakia for 2007, with focus on the rising foreign direct investment (FDI) competition. Balance of payments reveal that the flow of FDI into the country doubled in the first nine months of 2006. A discussion on the comparison of the country's FDI amount and per capita strength with other Central European countries is presented. It has been predicted that the country looks in a good position to continue garnering more Central European FDI.
