ABSTRACT
The article presents a performance forecast for the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) for 2006 and the forthcoming months. Growth concerns have dominated the bank's decision to put its overnight borrowing rate on hold at 3.50%. This may be indicative that the bank will be hesitant to sacrifice growth and will tolerate high inflation. Interest rate may increase to one point before end of 2006.
