ABSTRACT
The article presents a summary of Myanmar's political risk, economic risk, and business environment. An extension of the Burmese Freedom and Democracy Act will allow U.S. sanctions in Myanmar for another year. PTT, the oil giant in Thailand, will bid for exclusive rights to Myanmar's natural gas. China and Myanmar's introduction of procedures to simplify cross-border trade will see an expansion on the two countries' bilateral trade.
