ABSTRACT
The article reports Vietnam's booming economy. Vietnam attracts increasing foreign direct investment (FDI) and the expansion is likely to continue. In preparation on the membership for the World Trade Organization (WTO), Vietnam was Asia's second-fastest growing economy in 2005 and is likely to boost its growth further through new trading opportunities. Vietnam received an application from Intel, to invest $605 million in a semiconductor company and investments from big electronic companies such as Sony, Canon and Samsung. The Vietnamese government is seeking to improve its infrastructure by improving its power supplies, starting on the construction of the Son La Hydro Power Plant. Vietnam is also eager to develop its hydrocarbon infrastructure.
